A Landscape Revisited

Revisiting a legacy Arrowhead landscape to restore clarity, function, and intent.

More than twenty years after its original design, this landscape was thoughtfully revisited to restore clarity, function, and a refreshed planting palette. Over time, dense canopy growth had limited light, interim changes diluted intent, and systems no longer supported the landscape as designed.

Selective tree removal reopened light and views, while new evergreen screening established privacy between neighboring properties and framed a renewed garden room. Flagstone pathways reintroduced clear circulation, and ignition-zone fire mitigation was addressed through tumbled Colorado Buff drip edges and carefully selected plantings that balance safety with beauty.

All perennial beds were cleared and rebuilt—soils renewed, irrigation systems modernized, and planting reimagined. Approximately thirty percent of existing plant material was preserved and regrouped, allowing mature elements to be reintegrated into a cohesive, classic Arrowhead palette.

The result is not a reinvention, but a recalibration: a landscape brought back into alignment with its site, its architecture, and its original intent—now equipped to perform for the next chapter.

What clients say

We had seen some work that Ceres had done on other homes in our area that we were impressed with and we were looking to do a big project so we decided to reach out to them.

They were very responsive to any requests we had and were willing to let us be very involved in the process.
