Balanced Living

Modern architecture balanced against a living wetland in the heart of Vail.

Perched at the edge of a wooded wetland in the heart of Vail, this landscape is shaped through a careful balance of natural systems and modern form. Developed in collaboration with the Army Corps of Engineers, the project integrates a functioning wetland into the site, allowing water to remain the primary organizing element of the landscape.

Crisp architectural lines and contemporary materials are deliberately juxtaposed with the softness of native planting and flowing water. The pond, alive with trout, anchors daily life to the rhythms of the landscape, inviting direct engagement with place while preserving ecological integrity.

Here, opposites coexist—structure and fluidity, precision and wildness—creating a landscape that feels elemental, grounded, and deeply livable. The result is a setting where modern living unfolds in constant dialogue with water, land, and light.

What clients say

We had seen some work that Ceres had done on other homes in our area that we were impressed with and we were looking to do a big project so we decided to reach out to them.

They were very responsive to any requests we had and were willing to let us be very involved in the process.
