Emergent Meadow House

Birthed from the Land—A landscape that emerges from meadow and forest, shaped by stone, time, and restraint.

This landscape is conceived as a quiet emergence from its meadowscape setting—an elemental response shaped by restraint, material honesty, and time. Green roofs extend the architecture into the surrounding terrain, softening built form and reinforcing a seamless connection to forest and meadow. Native planting moves fluidly across the site, blurring boundaries between cultivated and wild.

Stone elements are placed with intention, crafted to feel as though they have existed for centuries rather than newly introduced. Walls, paths, and edges carry a sense of permanence and weathering, grounding the project in a deep respect for place. The result is a landscape that feels discovered rather than imposed—a non-invasive composition that honors the land through integration, patience, and enduring materials.

What clients say

“Working with Ceres Landcare transformed our backyard into one of the most beautiful outdoor spaces in Eagle.”

When we purchased our home in Eagle, Colorado, we wanted to completely reimagine the backyard and create an outdoor environment that would feel both beautiful and natural to the surrounding landscape. We were introduced to Ceres Landcare through the manufacturer of our copper spa, who highly recommended their work. From the very beginning, it was clear that we were in excellent hands.

Working with Ceres was an exceptional experience. Adam Dudek, manager of the construction division, and Kathy Aalto, landscape architect, along with their talented team, were instrumental in bringing the project to life. Their creativity, attention to detail, and exceptional communication stood out throughout the entire process. They were responsive, collaborative, and consistently focused on delivering the highest quality work.

Ceres completely transformed our backyard. They designed and installed beautiful native plants and trees, striking rock features, fencing, and seamlessly integrated a stunning spa and magnificent fire pit into the landscape. The finished result feels perfectly suited to the mountain environment while also being incredibly functional and welcoming.

The transformation has significantly enhanced how we use and enjoy our outdoor space. What was once an ordinary yard has become a place where we gather with family and friends, relax, and truly appreciate the beauty of Eagle and the surrounding mountains. Many people who visit have told us that it is one of the most beautiful yards in Eagle.

For anyone considering a landscape project in the Vail Valley, we cannot recommend Ceres Landcare highly enough. Their professionalism, creativity, and commitment to excellence are truly outstanding.
