Water reduction

Ridge Reset

A water-reduction landscape designed for heat, wildlife, and ridge-top exposure.

Perched on a sun-exposed ridge in Eagle Ranch, this landscape began as a water-intensive site misaligned with its environment. Bluegrass turf—ill-suited to the arid conditions, intense sunlight, and constant wildlife pressure—was removed entirely.

In its place, a series of xeric perennial beds and buffer plantings were established around existing patios and walkways, creating structure without excess. Native grasses and drought-tolerant perennials infill the site, allowing the landscape to function within the realities of heat, wind, deer, and limited water.

This water reduction enhancement transformed a high-maintenance landscape into one supported by its native environment—conserving resources while embracing rugged beauty. The result is resilient, grounded, and honest: a landscape designed for how this place actually lives.

What clients say

Ceres is a very professional and organized landscape design, installation, and maintenance company. This level of work is especially great for property owners such as myself who are new to an area and not on site all the time. I am looking forward to future projects and a long term relationship.
